Kyocera Unimerco introduces Hydraulic Chucks for precision applications

Kyocera Unimerco, a specialist in cutting tool solutions, introduces two high-performance hydraulic chucks, the Hydro Chuck Uni and the Hydro Chuck HD, developed for precision drilling, milling, threading, and other machining operations.

  • Industrial Tools

Kyoto/Sunds − Hydraulic chucks use a hydraulic mechanism to securely clamp tools such as drills, milling cutters, or thread cutters and other cutting tools. Pressurised oil ensures the tool is firmly held in place while simultaneously minimising disruptive vibrations, enabling stable and precise operation.

Kyocera Unimerco presents two hydraulic chucks, each optimised for different applications:
  • Hydro Chuck Uni offers an excellent price-performance ratio, providing high precision across a wide range of machining tasks.
  • Hydro Chuck HD (Heavy Duty) is specifically engineered for high-performance cutting (HPC) applications, capable of withstanding extreme torque.
Both chucks are suitable for tools with various shank types and diameters ranging from 6 to 32 mm, without the need for special sleeves or adapters. They also enable fast tool changes in just a few seconds using a standard Allen key, eliminating the need for specialised tools like torque wrenches e.g.. During operation, the hydraulic mechanism provides exceptional vibration damping and ensures a runout accuracy of less than 0.003 mm. An adjusting screw allows for easy axial length adjustment.
  • Hydro Chuck Uni is a versatile chuck that ensures excellent machining quality and long tool life across a broad spectrum of applications.
  • Hydro Chuck HD is designed for high-torque applications such as milling, drilling, and threading. Compared to standard solutions, the Hydro Chuck HD offers up to three times longer tool life, significantly improving efficiency and productivity in demanding environments.
Both chucks offer a balance grade of G2.5 at 25,000 rpm / Umax < 1 gmm, and the tool shanks meet h6 quality standards.
