Test Methods
Electroluminescence method
- Non-contact test method
- Special camera, use of infrared sensors
- Can be used at the customer's site
- Individual modules can be tested
- Detection of damage such as micro-fissures caused by hail, PID and transport damage,
- Detection of electrically inactive areas (cells/cell segments)
- Detection of faults/defects that would not be detectable with a visual check
Thermography method
- Infrared images with special camera
- Non-contact test method
- Can be used at the customer's site
- Individual modules or entire system can be checked
- Detection of defective bypass diodes, defective solder joints (increased contact resistance), inactive PV modules/cells
- Testing of inverters, AC connections, fuses and DC cabling and their connectors
- Detection of defects that would not be detectable with a visual check
Characteristic I-V curve measurements
- Proven and well-known testing method for performance assessment
- Fast and mobile method for determining the performance of individual modules or entire strings
- Determination of the current/actual power under real conditions
- Detection and analysis of shadowing and/or defective modules
